Welcome to Hounslow

Located just 10 miles from the West End of London, Hounslow is the principle town in the London Borough of Hounslow. The area benefits from a large shopping centre which adjoins the High Street with its mix of shops, restaurants and cafes.

Historically, Hounslow was a small village which formed on the Bath Road until Holy Trinity Priory, founded in 1211 on the junction of Staines Road and the Bell Inn, developed the area to a small market town boasting facilities for travellers heading to and from London. When the Priory dissolved in 1539, Hounslow remain an important staging post on the Bath Road. Hounslow Heath, a local nature reserve, holds significant historical significance dating back to the Roman Times as well as being used as a staging ground for various armies due to its close proximity to London. The opening of Hounslow Railway Station in 1850, prompted further development to the area which can be seen today by the charming Victoria terraced houses in the surrounding area.

Hounslow offers a fantastic transport network with London and the South East via road, train, tube and the nearby Heathrow Airport. The area comprises of 3 main London Underground stations, Hounslow West, Hounslow East and Hounslow Central, all of which are situated on the Piccadilly Line. Hounslow Railway Station, close to the town centre, provides regular services in and out of London Waterloo. The Bus Garage provides a plethora of bus services in to and out of Central London and the local area. For the road user, Hounslow is well served by the A4, Great West Road as well as the M4 motorway which provides routes to the West of England and Wales.

The town has a mix of mainly Victorian and interwar houses as well as benefitting from a number of modern developments such as the Blenheim Centre, in Hounslow's town centre. Families make a beeline for the area high achieving local schools and public open spaces, whilst the young professionals are attracted to the bustling shopping centre and well connected transport links Hounslow has to offer.
