Welcome to Osterley

Osterley is an affluent area of the historic parish of Isleworth, in West London part of the London Borough of Hounslow. Most of the land in Osterley is occupied by the large private estate of Osterley Park and its Mansion, making it one of the largest open spaces in West London. Local landmark, Osterley House, is best known for being used during World War II as home to the Home Guard training school. In more recent times, the area has become known for embracing one of the London residences of the Sultan of Brunei at his estate at Avery Farm on Windmill Lane.

The area boasts its own tube at Osterley Underground Station, on the Piccadilly Line, serving Heathrow Airport and through the West End of London. Although Osterley does not have its own Railway Station, the nearby stations of Syon Lane Railway Station and Isleworth Railway Station, conveniently provide the necessary connections in and out of London Waterloo. The motorist is well served by the A4, Great West Road offering routes in to London and out to the West of England.

The majority of the area has been developed during the interwar period of the 1930's when the Great West Road was completed. Osterley gradually expanded to form small residential sections of Osterley, with architecture typical of the era.
