Welcome to Brentford

Brentford is a residential neighbourhood found in the west of London within the London Borough of Hounslow. Located at the confluence of the River Brent and the River Thames, the area is 8 miles from the heart of London and became part of Greater London back in 1965, after the 1963 London Government Act was introduced.

Transport in Brentford is primarily served by trains to and from Brentford Railway Station, located on the Hounslow Loop Line, which provides connections to London Waterloo station via the nearby Chiswick and Richmond stations. Brentford is also well served by an array of London Buses, including the 65, 267, E8 and the N9 connecting the area to the rest of the local region and the capital. Although Brentford does not have its own dedicated London Underground station, it is well served by the local stations of Northfields, Boston Manor, South Ealing and Gunnersbury.

Over the recent years, Bretford has benefitted from investment from a number of multinational businesses which have chosen to set up their headquarters nearby. This has resulted in a redevelopment programme spanning along the banks of the River Thames and the historic Brentford Dock, located at the terminus of the Grand Union Canal.

One of the strongest selling points of Brentford is its location which is set on the tranquil banks of the River Thames. A lot of locations in this part of London offer convenient commuting links to the heart of the city but Brentford can also offer easy access to the West of England and Wales, via the nearby start of the M4 motorway.

It is sometimes the more intangible elements that make an area so attractive and behind the facts and figures offered by the Brentford property market, it is the emotional aspects of the area that makes it a place worth looking at. With respect to property in Brentford, the majority of the properties have been built since the 1970s and whilst most have features that traditionally represent the era, there are a cluster of modern apartments, on the banks of the River Thames. The majority of the properties in the area are flats or apartments but there are also a good number of semi-detached houses and a small number of detached houses can also be found.
