Welcome to Feltham

Feltham, located just 2 miles south of Heathrow Airport and 13 and a half miles from central London, is located in the London borough of Hounslow. Feltham is well known for its open spaces, which is said to be higher than the average amount of open space found in Greater London. There is a natural river bounding Feltham at the east, a country park and London Air Park, which is a vast public open space which is orientated towards sports and leisure. The natural surroundings of Feltham make it an ideal place to relax and forget about the stress of work and everyday life.

Notable people associated with Feltham include Queen members Freddie Mercury and Brian May, who both lived in the area, Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin who lived in the area and Mo Farrah who studied at Feltham Community College.

With respect to sporting facilities in the local area, there are a number of options. Hanworth Air Park Leisure Centre and Library is a popular choice and there are fitness facilities found in the Feltham Community College and Rivers Academy West London. People looking for leisure facilities will enjoy Leisure West which replaced an industrial estate on Browell's Lane back in the 1990's.

The main transport link to and from Feltham is found at Feltham Railway Station which connects to London Waterloo, with the added benefit of a "fast" train cutting journey times to as little as 32 minutes during peak times. Whilst there is no London Underground stations in Feltham, the nearby Hatton Cross Underground Station is easily reachable. There are also a number of London bus routes serving the local community, connecting to locations such as Kingston upon Thames, Heathrow, Staines upon Thames and local areas such as Hampton, Hayes and Hounslow. By car, the nearby A4, A316, M4, M3 and M25 offer connections in and out of London to the rest of the country.

Feltham offers a wide choice of property styles ranging from pretty Victoria terraced houses to modern apartments close to the town centre. Victorian and Edwardian tall-storey terraced, semi-detached and detached homes are particularly on Hanworth Road and adjoining roads, and in the small conservation area at Feltham Pond on the High Street. The majority of the properties were built in the 1930's including the popular family area of Grosvenor Park development centred around the green open spaces of Grosvenor Park.

The main shopping area in Feltham, referred to locally as The Centre, was opened back on 2006 and although it retained and improved upon many of the shop units which has been introduced in the 1960's, a number of new units, larger in size, were added. Other additions to the town centre at this point include a Travelodge hotel, 800 new homes, a medical centre and an expanded library. A major supermarket is the anchor store of the centre while there is another supermarket option located close by. There are also a number of cafes, restaurants and bars situated in and around this shopping hub.
