People Want Face To Face Communication From Agents – We Deliver

If you are looking to sell your home, it is fair to say that communication is vital. When you consider that legal documents need to be exchanged, a price has to be negotiated and then agreed and that a lot of things happen at short notice, clear communication is absolutely essential in the house selling process. At Jezzards, we aim to provide clear communication as best we can, and we are pleased to see the results of a recent report saying that many people prefer face to face communication with an estate agent.

The survey questioned 1,000 people who had recently bought or sold property. With 56% of respondents saying that face to face communication with an estate agent was their preferred method of communication, there was a clear winner when it comes to getting a point across. We know that people are busy, and it isn’t possible to always meet in person but when schedules allow, this is the platform that ensures projects are progressing in an effective manner.

Email and telephone communication are liked by many people

The next two preferred methods will not come as a surprise and it perhaps indicates that people are busy and need a communication method that reflects them being on the move. 16% of respondents said that telephone communication was their favoured way of contacting an estate agent while 15% of respondents said that email communication was the best way for them to discuss matters with an agent.

In a sign of the changing times, there was also limited support for very modern digital methods. 5% of respondents stated a preference for online chat communication and there were also preferences for text messages, online dashboards and personal apps. It is unlikely that most people would want to communicate with an estate agent solely through these channels but at certain times, staying in touch quickly and confirming matters can be of considerable benefit.

Property market is evolving

There is no denying that the property market has evolved in recent times and estate agents must move with the times. A face to face chat with a client is a brilliant way to start communicating but there is often a need to get in touch quickly. There will always be times when traditional methods are required but equally, there should be times when the process is improved by using a quicker form of correspondence.

Given the importance of concluding deals on time and in responding quickly, anything which speeds up communication without compromising on the quality of communication is vital. The standard of service demanded by clients is increasing all the time, and estate agents have a responsibility to meet and exceed these expectations.
