It is estimated that a property has just 2.7 seconds to make a first impression on a portal, and home movers can judge a listing merely on its images, skipping the property details altogether.

  1. Book a photographer for the time of day when light is at its best
  2. Keep your driveway free of vehicles, bins, recycling boxes and rubbish
  3. Keep all surfaces clutter free – that includes kitchen worktops and mantelpieces
  4. Mow the lawn, remove weeds, prune overgrown areas and add some pots of flowers
  5. Clean windows inside and out, and make sure all blinds/curtains are open
  6. Tidy away toys, paperwork, discarded shoes, laundry and washing up
  7. Add some subtle accessories, such as flowers, fluffy towels and candles
  8. Make sure all beds are made and smooth out the linen
